Jerome "The Bus" Bettis played for the NFL's Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers.

As rookie he rushed for 1,429 yards, and was named a First-team All-pro and Offensive Rookie of the Year. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons with the Rams.

Bettis is currently fifth on the National Football League's all-time rushing list. He retired in 2006 after a Super Bowl victory at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan, his city of birth.
